Saving Money

How to get Bath & Body Works for Cheap!

I have a secret obsession. It borders on hoarding, but I can’t stop.

I’m addicted to buying candles. My weakness are the three-wick candles from Bath & Body Works. But at $22 a candle, these babies are hard to pony up for. My secret? Combining sales and coupons, of course!

I used to purchase my candles once a year, but lately I seem to have more than I can burn, so this year I decided to skip the sales altogether and save my money. But it got me thinking about how much money I saved. With a little planning and patience, you can get them at a steal, too.

And so, I am sharing my strategy with all of you beautiful people.

Step One: Coupons

Sign up for promotional e-mails from the Bath & Body Works website. I know, why would you volunteer yourself for spam? Trust me, not all of their e-mails are junk. They regularly send out coupons. The most useful ones are the ones that give you $20 off a $60 dollar purchase. Some of you might receive the physical coupons in the mail, too.

Step Two: Sales

Now the waiting game begins. If you’ve signed up for the e-mails, you’ll get updated on regular promotions. A couple of times a year they have an offer of 2 candles for $24. Once a year, they offer candles for just $8 each! This alone is a great deal, but in reality it could be even better! I don’t keep up with these sales enough and so most of the time I miss them. Oops.

Step Three: Combine!

Now we stack coupons and sales! Eight candles at $8 each comes up to $64. If you use the $20 off $60 coupon, you end up with eight candles for just $44 bucks! In the end, each candle will come out to be about $5.50, which is over 75% in savings! Have any of you guys tried this method before?
